A Little Taste of Success

Should have mentioned this a while ago  Several months back, I met with a woman in town who acts as sort of a business agent for artists in the Dubuque area.  We had a meeting and she went over tips on how I can promote myself as an artist here in town and abroad.  She gave me a list of art galleries and a call for artists notice for an exhibit in the Quad Cities.  I applied for the exhibit around the end of the summer and was told I'd be notified on judging in October.  Well, October came and went and I found out.  I've been selected to present my artwork at the Quad City Arts Gallery in Rock Island, IL.

Actually, it will be quite a while before that happens, spring of 2014 to be exact. This is actually a good thing as it gives me time to create more stuff and I have plenty of ideas I want to utilize and turn into works of art.  I'll be showing stuff I've presented before to a new audience, but it will be great to reveal things no one's seen before.  People are already interested and I can't wait to show them.

Other than that, I'll be DONE done with college in less than a month and I'm debated on whether I should take my tracing skills and do commissions at a con.  You know, take a person's cosplay photo and make it a work of art, that sort of thing.
